Expedition Add-on’s

We offer some additional options and add-ons you can make to private expeditions.  Some of the options are also available on the fixed date departure expeditions. For option prices please see our Pricing Section.  

Extra days on the mountain
This option is only available on private expeditions.  You choose how many days you wish to spend on the mountain and we will organise an appropriate expedition for you.  We can also decrease the length of expeditions but we don’t advise taking any less than 6 days to summit due to the length of time the body takes to acclimatise to the altitude.

Night at crater rim
This option can only be added to private expeditions.  An overnight camp at the crater can be added to any existing trekking route.  Camp is made at 5700 metres where part of the day is spent acclimatising to the high altitude before exploring the crater and the Northern Ice Fields.  A small camp is maintained at a lower level for anyone who needs to descend, and both camps maintain radio contact throughout the time spent at the crater rim.  Both the Reusch Crater and Kilimanjaro’s glaciers are amongst the most stunning and picturesque areas of the mountain and a visit to both are highly recommended.

Extra days in Arusha
This option is available to both private and fixed date expeditions. You may wish to extend your stay at the Naura Springs Hotel and we can organise this at our discounted room rate.

Upgrade or downgrade accommodation
This option is available to both private and fixed date expeditions. We understand that everyone climbs Kilimanjaro on a different budget.  For those visiting on a small budget we can reduce the price of your trip by removing accommodation from the cost of the expedition letting you source you own accommodation in Arusha.  For those visiting on a larger budget we will upgrade your accommodation to any hotel in Arusha leaving you to pay the difference between the costs of your stay at the Naura Springs Hotel and the upgraded hotel.  We will offer assistance in both instances to help secure the accommodation you prefer.

Visits to national parks and other excursions
This option is available to both private and fixed date expeditions. We work closely with small, locally based Tanzania tour operators and we are able to organise bespoke expeditions to all the national parks in Tanzania.  We are also able to offer bespoke visits to tribal villages, schools, orphanages and charity projects.  

Kenya support
This option is available to both private and fixed date expeditions.  If travelling through Kenya on your arrival or departure we are able to offer support in Nairobi in the form of trusted drivers and luxury accommodation.  We can also organise transport from Nairobi to Arusha should you require it.
