As well as the six traditional trekking routes on Kilimanjaro the mountain also boasts seventeen technical climbing routes from scrambles to Grade VI climbs. The technical climbing on Kilimanjaro can be divided into three main areas, the Southern Glaciers, the Breach Wall and the North Western Glaciers.

The technical routes on Kilimanjaro are seldom used by visitors to the mountain and many of the routes have been unclimbed since the 1970’s. Due to the retreating glaciers many of the climbs are not in a good condition and a limited amount of information is available on some routes.

At present the Kilimanjaro Climbing Company offers guided expeditions on two technical routes, the Western Breach and the Credner Glacier

We also offer those wishing to undertake an unguided technical ascent on the mountain a support package to assist with their expedition, consisting of the following options:
